According to Google, there are over a million people worldwide searching monthly on how to pray and what to pray for. As believers of Yahweh Elohim and his holy scriptures we don’t have to search very far for the answers.
There are so many biblical prayers available to us right now. All we have to do is open our Bibles and we will see prayers for healing, prayers for backsliders, prayers for safety, and a host of other prayers at our finger tips.
3 Reasons to Pray
The main reason to pray scripturally based prayers is that it produces fruit. It works! Why does it work? I’ll give you three reasons why praying the scriptures work.
1. The will of God is achieved.
Jesus told us to pray that the will of the Father be done in the earth as it is in heaven. What is his will? The holy scriptures. How do we know this is his will? Because it tells us who God is, what he is like, what he wants from us, and more. Even Jesus studied the scriptures and quoted often from them so it must have been important to learn. Therefore, we never have to pray, “Father, if it be thou will…” because we will already be praying God’s will for our lives.
2. God hears us.
If we walk upright before him he will hear us. If we are not walking right then we need to get right so he can hear us. If we are not already a part of his family then he will hear us if we ask to become a part of his family because it is his will that none should depart this life without knowing him.
3. God’s word will achieve success.
We don’t have to worry about whether or not he will answer us because once he hears us he has to honor his word. It is impossible for God to lie. His word will not go out into the atmosphere and not accomplish what it is supposed to do. Therefore, whatever he says must come to pass.
Bonus Reason for Scriptural Prayers
As we begin to pray aloud the scriptures we hear the word of God spoken continuously. (That is if we pray regularly.) This allows God’s words to get deep into our spirits, allowing his word to become a part of us. The more of his words we have in us the better we are able to stand in a fallen world.
Pray the Scriptures. It Works!
Prayer Time
Our Heavenly Father, who is in heaven,
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let my lips speak praise because you teach me your laws. Let my tongue sing of your promise because all your commandments are righteous. I rejoice in the way of your instruction more than in any kind of wealth. I meditate on your precepts and keep my eyes on your ways. I find delight in your regulations. I do not forget your word.
In Yeshua the Messiah’s name, Amen.

Thanks for an inspiring article Dawn! I think many don’t understand the difference between having general knowledge of God’s Word (Scripture) and actually having confidence that His Word works. Your BONUS REASON is a great reminder of how valuable praying the Scriptures is for believers. Have a blessed day. ampministries.org
Thank you for the comment. I figure you just can’t go wrong praying the scriptures. God really does make it easy for us. We just have to be willing to follow his way, which is a lot easier than our way.
