In “Why People Who Get Healed Don’t Stay Healed,” we talked about what hinders us from staying healed after God has healed us. Also, we have already talked about the dietary meat laws God gave us through Moses. Today, we will talk about how to keep our healing through fruits and vegetables.
God’s Original Food Plan
The book of Genesis lays out for us the first of everything and a thing’s original intent. This is the case with our eating habits too. God’s original plan for human beings’ food supply consisted of fruits and vegetables that produced seeds, and green plants. He clearly states this in Genesis 1:29-30.
“Then God said, ‘Here! Throughout the whole earth I am giving you as food every seed-bearing plant and every tree with seed-bearing fruit. And to every wild animal, bird in the air and creature crawling on the earth, in which there is a living soul, I am giving as food every kind of green plant.’ And that is how it was.”
His original plan allowed us to stay in optimum health by eating live raw foods, which feeds the living cells in our bodies. There was no cooking or eating animal flesh. All of this came after Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden.
No Bloodshed in the Garden
Some people have made the claim that Adam and Eve ate animals while in the garden. However, even the animals were given the charge to eat green plants. They were not eating any other animals. Now if the animals couldn’t eat other animals, why would God allow his humans to eat animals? That doesn’t make sense. There was no bloodshed in the garden before the fall of humans.
This is how it will be when God creates the new earth. There will be no bloodshed. The wolf and the lamb will feed together and the lion will eat straw like an ox. This will be like it was in the beginning.
Fruits and Vegetables
Eating fruits and vegetables in their natural state, i.e. not cooked, gives our bodies optimum nutrition. God has provided us with a wide variety of foods so there is no reason to get bored eating them, which is something I hear a lot. It’s funny because these same people will eat the same cooked meal day in and day out without ever getting tired of it. But when it comes to fruits and vegetables it’s a different story.
Eating a diet consisting of mainly raw foods can help you become healthier and stronger. Some benefits include increased energy, clearer skin, weight loss, reduce inflammation and reduced risk of disease such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. A raw foods diet has fewer trans fats and saturated fats than most diets. It is high in potassium, magnesium, foliate, fiber, vitamin A, and health-promoting antioxidants.
My Journey to Vegetarianism
Although I am mainly vegetarian, borderline vegan, I do eat meat every blue moon. I did not wake up one morning and decide to be vegetarian. My body decided for me. When I was a child I ate just as much meat as the next person, if not more. Fried chicken wings were my favorite with steak following right behind it. As I grew up I noticed one day I no longer had a taste for ham. I still ate bacon every once in awhile, but I couldn’t stomach ham anymore.
As an adult my body began to reject steak, not hamburger. Soon I no longer had a taste for it, but I still had my wing dings. Then eventually that faded too. I was down to eating one wing ding. That’s not even a whole wing! Soon I found a meat substitute and began eating that. It didn’t take long for my body to reject that also. That’s when I realized my body had a hard time processing a lot of protein. So I cut out all of those things that my body couldn’t handle, which has led me to a vegetarian, borderline vegan lifestyle.
Everyone Should Become a Vegetarian
Therefore, I believe everyone should become a vegetarian. After all, that was God’s original plan anyway. OK, I’m just joking. I don’t believe that. The scriptures tells us that in last days people will tell you that you must stop eating certain foods as well as forbidding to marry. They will tell you that this is the only way to go. I don’t believe that.
However, I do believe if you who are sick then you should try a raw foods diet, at least until you are feeling better. Then you should introduce other foods that you like back into your diet slowly to see what affects that particular food has on you. Also, you should stop eating as much refine foods as possible such as white flour and white sugar.
Prayer Time
Our Heavenly Father, who is in heaven,
Give us a desire for good healthy foods that will nourish our bodies and heal us. Take away our desires for unhealthy foods.
In Yeshua the Messiah’s name, Amen.

“Every moving thing that lives will be food for you; just as I gave you green plants before, so now I give you everything.” (Genesis 9:3 CJB)
“The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion eat straw like an ox (but the serpent – its food will be dust). They will not hurt or destroy anywhere on my holy mountain,” says Adonai.” (Isaiah 65:25 CJB)
“The Spirit expressly states that in the acharit-hayamim (the end of days) some people will apostatize from the faith by paying attention to deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come from the hypocrisy of liars whose own consciences have been burned, as if with a red-hot branding iron. They forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods which God created to be eaten with thanksgiving by those who have come to trust and to know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing received with thanksgiving needs to be rejected, because the word of God and prayer make it holy.” (1 Timothy 4:1-5 CJB)
Thanks for the article.. I have just recently found the vegan lifestyle and I love it. It seems like I just can’t take in enough information.
