“Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.”
Shabbat Shalom to you. This Psalm specifically tells us the Torah (law) is true. Truth is something that will stand forever. It is what is real. It’s not a fact, which can change over time when new information becomes available.
Whenever I hear someone say, “the law is done away with” as if a better truth came, I cringe. When you get rid of the law you have changed God’s way of doing things. You make it seem like God changed His mind concerning His people following His ways.
The scripture tells us God never changes. Therefore, neither does His law. Plus, Yeshua said he didn’t come to abolish the law. They agree with each other. Yet, we can’t.
The Torah/Law is true and only God, who is righteous forever, can change it. He is the only one who can void it out. Yet, He doesn’t.
Man’s opinion of God’s ways changes. How they interpret it depends on what they want to get out of it. This is why we have 1000s of denominations. Everyone wants to be in charge and make their own rules. Yet, they don’t want to follow God’s rules.
Yeshua never changed God’s laws. He expounded on it to clarify and make plain its original intent. The law remains the same and it is true.
As you rest in the Sabbath today, know you are honoring God’s law concerning the Sabbath.
Let peace abound in your life today.
