“Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.”
Shabbat Shalom to you. Every Sabbath we are invited by the King of the universe to sit and dine with him and our families. We have a chance to forget about everything that’s going on in the world and focus on all the goodness we have in our lives thanks to God.
We acknowledge He is the ruler of all things and have a right to give us rules to follow Him. After all, all relationships have rules to follow. The only difference is that we won’t be put to shame for following God’s rules.
It’s not the same in most human-to-human relationship. One person follows the rules of being faithful while another doesn’t. Heartbreak happens. Shame and embarrassment explode. Anger and regret follow. Then bitterness sets in.
None of this happens with obeying God and His rules. God never causes you pain or turns His back on you. Instead, He fights for you, delivers you, and lets you know when danger in around the corner.
I don’t know about you, but having a good relationship with God is better than a great relationship with someone else.
Be blessed this sabbath day with peace and love.
