Teaching Requires Telling the Whole Truth

In earlier posts I talked about the real story of Yeshua (Jesus) being born. I discussed in The Real Nativity Story how it was shepherds who came to see Yeshua at his birth in the manger. The next post talked about the Magi who came to visit Yeshua when he was about two years old. The Magi never visited Yeshua in a manger at his birth.

Why Should Any of this Matter?

Maybe you’re wondering why this should matter. The Bible says that a little leaven leavens the whole lump. If a truth is sprinkled with a little falsehood, it is easier to believe the whole matter to be true. If you keep adding a little falseness to a matter then eventually you can replace the whole truth with a whole lie. Now this whole lie has become a whole truth because the truth was eaten away a little at a time. When the part that is false is accepted as truth then another small lie can be added until there is nothing left of the truth.

Lies found in the Truth are hard to see.

It’s time to separate the truth from the false. Otherwise, our grandchildren will live a lie believing it is the truth. And from then on a lie will be the truth and the truth will be a lie and the scriptures will be a fairy tale for silly people. I know this might seem like an extreme thing to say. But it really isn’t.

The scriptures are twisted regularly for a person’s own purpose. Men want to draw people to themselves instead of to Yahweh Elohim. But in order to do this they need to put a little lie into the truth to make it convincing to the people. We are warned about this in Acts 20:30 which says, “Even from among your own number, men will arise and teach perversions of the truth, in order to drag away the talmidim (disciples) after themselves.” (CJB)

Are you a Teacher of the Word of God?

Our desire is not to be like those people Acts is talking about. However, I find way too often we call ourselves teachers, but we do not teach. We take what was imbedded into us from childhood and repeat it verbatim. We never ask any questions. We do not rightly divide the word of truth. We perpetuate a lie as the truth. We never ask the Holy Spirit to teach us.

Confusion is not good.

We call ourselves Christians, which means to be “Christ-like,” but we don’t even follow Christ in what he said or did. Yeshua was a Jewish man who studied the Tanakh (the Old Testament). He quoted from it. He lived it. He followed its commands. Yet, we say it is no longer valid. We say Yeshua voided it out and the Old Testament no longer means anything and we based this on a few New Testament scriptures using a Greek mindset.

The whole Bible from beginning to end was written with a Hebraic mindset, not a western mindset, not a Roman mindset. Most of what we know as Christians comes from a Roman viewpoint. It’s time out for perpetuating a lie. It’s time we learned the truth. It’s time we learned our history. It’s time to put the scriptures in their proper light. It’s time to see things the way Yahweh Elohim sees them.

Our goals as teachers are to teach the truth and correct errors, regardless if it goes against the grain. We are accountable to God only.

God will Judge Us

If we call yourselves teachers by helping others understand the scriptures, then I hope we are making sure we are teaching the whole truth of the matter. The letter to Timothy tells us to study to show ourselves approve. Approved by whom? God Almighty, of course. He is the ultimate judge.

Judgment is inevitable!

Remember, in the Day of Judgment, we will be accountable for every word that has come out of our mouths. We will be judged in whether we brought people to God or moved them away from God based on what we have said and done.

I know I don’t want to stand before God and he tell me he never knew me. I know I don’t want to hear how I caused so many people to be lost because I refused to tell the truth when I knew the truth.

Prayer Time

Our Heavenly Father, who is in heaven,
The beginning of all knowledge and wisdom comes from you. Therefore, we ask you to open our understanding to your scriptures. Help your word become alive in us. Help us to teach your living word in light of your written word.
Fill us with the knowledge of your will in all the wisdom and understanding which the Spirit gives; so that we may live lives worthy of you and entirely pleasing to you, being fruitful in every good work and multiplying in the full knowledge of you, Yahweh Elohim.
In Yeshua the Messiah’s name, Amen.
